The book boards are cut and the papers are pasted to "Positionable Mounting Adhesive". PMA is a little like a large roll of double sided tape. I use it whenever possible because it is not wet like glue. . . no drying time and no warping of boards.
More burnishing. . . to attach the paper to the PMA.
More cutting. . . to trim off the PMA.
The board is put in the center of the cover paper and burnished again. Then, the corners are mitered and folded around the board (turn-ins) and burnished some more.
One cover is now complete (left) and the second only needs the inside board paper pasted over the turn-ins (right).
Now that the boards are completely covered, the holes are marked and drilled with a drill press. A laser site makes it easier to drill the holes acurately and quickly.
I finally get to sit down and stitch the book together.
And after about an hour of stitching the book is complete!
