The graphic flower design is burned into the birch front cover by hand and the pattern repeats on the fly page as seen thru the two holes cut in the cover. The back cover is actually a box with a barrel-hinged lid that holds all your artist pencils, pens and even eraser. Both covers are sealed with a hand rubbed tung oil finish. The extra thick back cover makes a superbly stable surface to draw on. The book body includes approximately 360 pages of hand torn Strathmore drawing paper plus a sheet of tracing paper between most pages. It is bound extra carefully and strong for lots of use. The spine is goat leather and is topped off with furniture nails.
